She has founded and grown businesses, led organisational transformations and managed operations across multiple markets, with responsibility for commercial performance, client relationships and team development.

For Carole, what stands out about Deanne is her continued drive to build and explore new opportunities after more than three decades in business. As she puts it:

From Business Leadership to Strategic Advisory

Today, as CEO of Frontière Advisory, Chatterton advises boards and executive teams on navigating the complex dynamics that shape business decisions.  The firm helps organisations understand how stakeholder perceptions, regulatory pressures and reputational risks can influence commercial outcomes, particularly when making high-consequence decisions.

Her approach draws on years of experience leading businesses across different markets, recognising that successful strategies must account for local relationships, institutional dynamics and the specific conditions in which organisations operate. As Carole explains:

“Deanne’s career is defined by her ability to combine global commercial discipline with local African context.”

Developing People and Building Stronger Organisations

Throughout her career, Chatterton has led businesses through periods of change, improving operational effectiveness and developing teams across multiple countries. During her time at Instinctif Partners, she led initiatives to strengthen collaboration across markets and build a more accountable organisational culture. She also took on responsibility for the group’s People and Culture function, developing initiatives focused on employee engagement, leadership alignment and talent development.

Her commitment to creating opportunities extends beyond the corporate environment. As a trustee of the Early Care Foundation in South Africa, she contributed to the organisation’s governance and strategic direction, supporting its mission to improve access to quality early childhood development.
